Alright so I said I wasn't going to talk about saving money at Disney......but. Well we participated in the Give a Day Get a Day promotion. All four of signed up to clean up Lake Jessup. We thought it would be fun seeing as we have never been there before. But Low and behold the day of the big clean up it's raining and freezing. Now, we are from the keys where it stays warm, and it was cold to the locals so I tell you I nearly made it with out freezing a rather large rear part of my anatomy. We went anyway. The trails were flooded and we were all miserable. There were about 10 of us that didn't give up. After 45 minutes they tell us we are done......Phewwww....Relief. They signed our papers and we were ready for Disney. Not bad 45 minutes of freezing for 4 Disney passes....Yeahhh. A week later we get an email that for Florida Residents you add 3 more days for $20. Our total for 4 days at Disney was $84.00 after taxes. We did all 4 parks in 4 weeks and we loved it. We paid $5.25 a day FOR DISNEY. The promotion has already run out for this year. But be watching closely. If they do it again they will be promoting it near November. Sign up didn't begin until Jan 1. There were lots of different types of volunteering. From doing cleanup to feeding the homeless. And what's better is the kids get to volunteer also and that's teaching them a valuable lesson on it's own.
The biggest savings that we found that I have not seen mentioned on the web is the fact that you can bring in coolers. And I'm not talking a little 6 pack cooler. We brought in a huge rolling cooler. There is a catch that you have to be aware of though. You can not bring in something that rolls behind you. So we remedied that situation by stopping by a local thrift store and purchasing a used stroller. We filled up the cooler with all the waters and drinks for the day. Stopped by Publix for their mind blowing subs(Dry of course) and we were on our way. We ended up buying one turkey leg, because you just have to. We saved I bought the water for 3.99 on sale for 24. I would have spent $60 for just the water alone. Then the subs we got saved our food budget.
Well I hope this has helped and I hope your saving that money....Lord knows we all need it right now. hope to see y'all out saving money and having fun.
